The currants this year have suddenly ripened and are threatening to go over in the heat so I picked them all and will make jelly and jam tomorrow. The gooseberries are lovely and sweet and destined to be lightly poached with elderflower syrup. Lots more are still ripening…

Today I picked a few paltry words. Very sour. Some already gone over through over-use. I shall try my well thumbed Brontethesaurus and see if any unripe lurk behind amnesia, which might ripen in the night?
You are infuriating sometimes. I cannot imagine how satisfying it must be to look at jars filled with more than you need!

  2. Oh, oh, all my favourites – especially blackcurrants.
Like your sister, a talent for paradise. Check out my latest post re: Spain.

  3. BTW, you may know this, berries freeze well if quick-frozen on a tray before packaging. I used to do this in Somerset.
